Every business and organization has a place to connect. A “front door” where you begin your journey. Whether it is a web page or a physical door you open to get inside a building, there is always an entry point. The entry point for knowing God is Jesus. John 14:6 tells us there is no other way, no other connection point. Meeting God through Christ can be done anywhere at anytime. The purpose of our church is to be a place that is conducive to connecting with God. We have several doors. The main door leads to the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. It is a place to worship and experience God as He interacts among believers.
The second phase of our purpose is to grow. Individuals that have come seeking God and found Him are certain to want to know more and grow in that relationship. Once again, there are many doors in our church but the primary point of entry for growth is a discipleship class and or a home fellowship. The home fellowship group also is an entry place for connecting with others.
As you are falling in love with someone, it isn’t long until you want to do something for them. So it is with God. As you find yourself growing, opportunities to serve will present themselves from time to time. Once you find yourself serving God and others, you have come full circle with the purpose of the church. Sound simple? It really is.
