A.L.T.E.R. is Mission Village Christian Fellowship's student ministry program and is open to students of all ages from grades 7 - 12. Below is our vision.
Accept students from all backgrounds seeking to point each one to the love of God in Jesus Christ, a love that can be separated by nothing (Romans 8:38).
Love students where they are. God is love (1 John 4:8) and there is no other more worthy task than striving to love as God does.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Transform lives. God loves us where we are, and loves us too much to keep us there. A.L.T.E.R. strives to bring those who attend into a more fulfilling relationship with God and a deeper rest in His grace which will result in a life radically changed. This begins first and foremost with the unbeliever's salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord (Ephesians 2:8) for the forgiveness of sins, and continues in the process of discipleship in which God's saved children learn to be transformed by putting to death that which is of their sinful flesh (Colossians 3:5) as well as by having their minds renewed (Romans 12:2). To be ultimately transformed is to understand God's grace adn to allow Jesus to live his life through the newly created individual (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20).
Equip students. A.L.T.E.R. exists to equip believers for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, becoming mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:12). Spiritual gifts are given to believers for the edification of the body. A.L.T.E.R. serves as a place of discovery and developement of these gifts in the crucial years of teens.
Relevant. A.L.T.E.R. strives to be relevant to the culture of its time. While the struggles and highlights of each culture do not change at their core, their form of expression changes drastically (ex. fifty years ago pornography was not available on a computer). A.L.T.E.R. strives to facilitate cultural changes, constantly making the necessary improvements to better meet students on their home turf.
Come and hang out with us!

"For God so LOVED the WORLD that He GAVE His one and only Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him shall not perish but have ETERNAL life. For God did not send His Son into the world to CONDEMN the world, but to SAVE the world through HIM." John 3:16
